 Keys to Win!
It is getting more popular to invite psychiatrists or counselors to the team to give professional hand to these young players to help them win the games and lives.
Filipino Australian Frances Bondad and Singaporean Choo Tze Huang are no strangers to championship and they know the key point of winning.

Frances has won three championships this year and Choo Tze Huang won two championships last year. Both of them say the inspiration from Tiger Woods is helpful in their beginning of golf-playing , yet it is that knowing how to relax and get centered in the game are far more significant in the critical moments.

Frances once decided to give up playing last year after she couldn’t handle the demanding schedule from studies , boyfriend and practice at the same time. Yet, she missed the playing so much that she picked up again after one month and is more determined than ever to make playing a lifetime career. Like most Australian players , she now learns to enjoy the process of playing and to relax after games by singing and laughing at jokes told by friends.

Choo Tze Huang , who will represent Singapore to play in Asia Games, now has counseling sessions with psychiatrist paid by the team and now he learns better how to relax and control tempers. He finds the sessions is especially helpful after the psychiatrist accompanying him to play 18 holes and the psychiatrist has a better idea what he is talking about. He still remembers well a line told by the psychiatrist. The line is “how many holes you still have and can make the changes”, it is the resource left which can make the use of instead of the ones have gone and lost.

For junior players , who are undergoing a transition from adolescence to adulthood, the pressures of making it in the games is extremely hard to get through, it is significant for them to have both parents’ support and professional help. Frances often talks to her Mom whenever she goes and ChooTze Huang loves to have conversation with his Dad whenever he feels low.
